Host Flash™

The ultimate Linux hosts file manager

You are here: Home / Screenshots

Enjoy the Host Flash screenshots as we take you on a tour of the two Host Flash run modes: Use Quick Run to reuse saved settings or bypass Quick Run to reconfigure Host Flash for a specific need.

Runtime configuration settings can be saved for reuse on successive runs. Stored 'autorun' settings can be used when Host Flash detects stored configuration settings.

A copy of the original unedited hosts file is created the first time Host Flash is run; this ensures the pre Host Flash edited file can be restored at any time. Host Flash also creates a zipped backup of every hosts file it replaces whenever Host Flash runs.

Screen colors are determined by your OS configuration. We like blue on black. If your console or terminal uses white on black or black on white then that is the color scheme Host Flash will use for you.

Host Flash uses either the Dialog or Whiptail program to display dialogue prompts. Whichever program is found first is used.

For those who use Dialog. There is a configuration file for Dialog stored in Host Flash/settings/dialogrc. Copy this to your home directory if you wish to customize the appearance of the prompts used by Dialog. Edit dialogrc to adjust colors. Delete dialogrc to restore your computer’s default Dialog prompt colors.
